This Privacy Policy explains how Jimnus (“Jimnus,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our website, mobile apps, and desktop app (together, the “Service”). Jimnus is a product of Pextran. If you have questions, email us at support@jimnus.com.
1. Who we are
Jimnus is an AI assistant for chat, image generation, and document tools, available on the web, on iOS and Android, and as a desktop app. Jimnus is operated by Pextran. You can reach our support and privacy team at support@jimnus.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information. Your email address and name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique identifier for your account with that provider and your display name; we never receive your Google or Apple password.
- Preferences. Your country, preferred language, theme, and your AI usage preferences (such as how you split your allowance between chat and image generation).
- Content you provide. The chat messages you send, images you upload or generate, and documents you upload (for example PDF, text, or Markdown files). In the desktop Cowork mode, if you choose to work with local files, the file paths and file contents you explicitly share are processed to answer your requests.
- Usage data. Your AI token usage per model, your subscription tier, your credit balance, and referral status if you use an invite link.
- Payment information. When you subscribe, payment is handled by our payment processor (Stripe; Chapa in Ethiopia in the future). We store identifiers such as your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and, for fraud prevention, a non-reversible fingerprint of a payment method. We do not see or store your full card number.
- Technical data. Your IP address at signup (used to detect and prevent abuse), your browser or device user agent, and device type.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and operate the Service, including generating AI responses and images.
- To personalize your experience, such as responding in your chosen language.
- To process subscriptions and payments, and to manage your plan and credit balance.
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues.
- To communicate with you about your account, including transactional emails such as email verification and password resets.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your content to train AI models. Your chats, images, and documents are sent to AI providers only to generate a response for you, and are not used by us to train models.
4. Third parties we share data with
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with service providers only to the extent needed to run the Service:
- Sign-in providers. Google and Apple, when you choose to sign in with them.
- AI inference providers. Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google (Gemini), depending on which model is active for your request. The content you send for a response (your messages, and any images or documents attached to them) passes through the relevant provider so it can generate the response.
- Embeddings. OpenAI, used to index files for search in desktop Cowork mode.
- Payments. Stripe (worldwide) and, in the future, Chapa (Ethiopia).
- Email. Resend, used only for transactional emails (such as verification and password reset). We do not send marketing email.
- Hosting. Vercel, which provides our compute and edge network.
- Database. Our managed PostgreSQL database provider [Database Provider], which stores your account and usage data.
Each provider processes your data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of Jimnus and its users.
5. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account (see “Your rights” below), we delete your account and associated data, including your profile, chats, and uploaded content, and we immediately cancel any active subscription. We may retain limited records where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes, and backups may persist for a limited period before they cycle out.
6. Your rights
You can access and update your account information in the app. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, export, or restrict the processing of your data; to exercise them, email us at support@jimnus.com.
7. Children
Jimnus is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International data transfers
Jimnus operates globally. Your information may be transferred to and processed on servers in the United States and other countries — including by our hosting, AI, payment, and email providers — where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to these transfers.
9. Cookies
We use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking for advertising.
10. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date below and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
